Nowadays teams are used in almost any organization as they are able to respond adequately to the changes from the business environment. Thus, the focus of this thesis is to analyse team working thoroughly by looking at individual team members satisfaction, behaviour and career prospects. Only by investigating first the individuals we can get a proper picture of how the team is functioning as the sum of individual efforts, commitment and relationships among group members shape the actual team. Which are the compensation schemes preferred by the employees? Are there any other types of non-monetary rewards that contribute to higher satisfaction or helping behaviour? And does it really payoff to be part of a team in terms of increase cooperation among group members and potential promotions? These are the research questions that I plan to answer in my dissertation. In the specific case of human resource management it is proper for companies to adapt their compensation systems to their team-based structures (Zobal, 1998; Shaw et al., 2001). However, there are few studies about the effect of the new compensation design on employee satisfaction and helping behaviour. ¿Cómo se incorporan la expectativas de las tasas de interés en la estructura de tipos de interés en Colombia? Las dos principales teorías propuestas en este sentido son la Hipótesis de las Expectativas (HE) y la Hipótesis de prima por liquidez (HPL). Este estudio contrasta ambas teorías tanto para las tasas de los TES como las de los CDTs, empleando modelos econométricos de series de tiempo que controlan por la persistencia de las tasas y su heterocedasticidad. Los resultados soportan la HPL, consistente con el hecho de que en Colombia, las tasas de largo plazo tienden a ser mayores que las de corto plazo. De otro lado, las tasas de largo plazo presentan algún poder predictivo sobre las tasas futuras de corto plazo, consistente con la HE.; How does the yield curve incorporate the expectations on the Colombian future short-term interest rates?. Two theories have been proposed to explain it: the Expectation Hypothesis and the Liquidity Preference Hypothesis. This paper tests both theories for the TES yield curve as well as for the CDT yield curve, using time-series models that account for the persistence and heteroskedasticity of the interest rates. The results support the Liquidity Preference Hypothesis, consistent with the fact that in Colombia long-term rates have been consistently higher than short-term rates. El cumplimiento de la hipótesis de expectativas (HE) ha sido contrastado en varios países por medio de diferentes métodos. En Colombia no se ha estudiado de manera conjunta las relaciones de largo plazo entre las tasas cero cupón. El presente trabajo busca contrastar el cumplimiento de la hipótesis de expectativas estimando un modelo multivariado con corrección de errores, de acuerdo a la metodología propuesta por Hall, Anderson y Granger (1992). La significancia de la prima por liquidez en las relaciones de largo plazo y las pruebas estadísticas del modelo favorecen el contraste de la HE. Sin embargo, la existencia de dos relaciones de cointegración y el rechazo de las relaciones teóricas esperadas indican el incumplimiento de la HE en Colombia.; The validity of the expectations hypothesis (HE) has been studied in several countries through different methods.
