O modelo será integrado a um sistema de e-saúde.; The work exploits the security management and the cooperation of applications in mobile distributed systems. In this context a study of different mobile middleware is made. The study examines their capacities to face the challenges of mobility and security issues. The analysis shows that the existing middleware has very few approaches on security problems; security is still a complex issue to be managed in all the levels of mobile distributed system including new mechanisms. Based on this analysis...

The foraging, territoriality and displacement of the Snail Kite were studied over 232 hours of observations in an urban lake during the dry and wet seasons. The temperature and rainfall variations were used to correlate with predation rates and the correlation coefficients were 0,39 and 0,34, respectively. Snail Kites spent more time foraging during the wet than the dry season when perching is more frequently recorded. The higher predation in the wet season can be explained by the higher abundance of apple snails and the energy demand for reproduction. In the wet season, the territories were smaller and the conspecific conflicts decreased as prey were more available. However, due to the lack of food in the dry season, intra-specific conflicts and expansion of male territories were observed and the female and immatures were expelled from their foraging area to another location. In this way, site tenacity of Snail Kites should be interpreted in relation to the variations on food and dominance gradients according to the temporal changes (time) and foraging sites (space).

cis-regulatory DNA sequences known as enhancers control gene expression in space and time. They are central to metazoan development and are often responsible for changes in gene regulation that contribute to phenotypic evolution. Here, we examine the sequence, function, and genomic location of enhancers controlling tissue- and cell-type specific expression of the yellow gene in six Drosophila species. yellow is required for the production of dark pigment, and its expression has evolved largely in concert with divergent pigment patterns. Using Drosophila melanogaster as a transgenic host, we examined the expression of reporter genes in which either 5′ intergenic or intronic sequences of yellow from each species controlled the expression of Green Fluorescent Protein. Surprisingly, we found that sequences controlling expression in the wing veins, as well as sequences controlling expression in epidermal cells of the abdomen, thorax, and wing, were located in different genomic regions in different species. By contrast, sequences controlling expression in bristle-associated cells were located in the intron of all species. Differences in the precise pattern of spatial expression within the developing epidermis of D. melanogaster transformants usually correlated with adult pigmentation in the species from which the cis-regulatory sequences were derived...

The important historical role of pastoral nomads in Mesopotamia stands in stark contrast to the dearth of archaeological data on pastoral nomadic groups of any pre-modern period. Archaeological models neglect not just a significant segment of past populations; they also lack data on a substantial portion of the past food and textile production systems. Historical records and excavation have demonstrated that the resilience of Mesopotamian economy depended in part on pastoralism, but archaeologists know very little about the long-term management of the pastoral landscapes beyond core agricultural areas. This study examines empirical evidence for pastoral nomadic modes of inhabiting and transforming the landscape over the last 500 years in the upland fringes of the Upper Tigris River Valley in southeastern Turkey. Four seasons of archaeological survey mapped diachronic patterns in pastoral nomadic winter land-use, including patterns of campsites and spatially associated landscape features such as cisterns, corrals, caves, cairns, and check dams. Ethnographic and historical data as well as satellite imagery aided in archaeological interpretation. Three main conclusions about pastoral nomads are drawn from the characteristics and spatial distributions of the surveyed features. 1) Pastoral nomads altered their local landscapes for the purposes of sheltering humans and animals...

Mobile communications and Internet based computer communications are the two fastest growing areas of communications indicating an enormous business potential in the intersection of these two domains. Since the introduction of cellular networks, wireless communications have focused on speech only, while mobile data has played a minor role. This paradigm is likely to change drastically in the near future. A new phenomenon, reflected by a nomadic lifestyle, is spreading all over the industrialized countries. Clear evidence of this is discernible particularly in Japan and Scandinavia. Nomadic lifestyle suggests that we are now at the advent of a new era of mobile communications, which will be fueled by rapid evolution of key technologies such as mobile computing, low-power consuming RISC and signal processor technologies, wireless channel aggregation, wireless packet data, and Internet based multimedia communications. The current trend of network evolution implies that the Internet will serve as a core for future service provision, whereas traditional telecommunication networks offer access paths to those services. Internet telephony reflects the beginning of a new communication era, which is characterized by running real-time applications over Internet/Intranet based computer communication infrastructure. We can envision that soon they not only contain speech...

This qualitative research project uses a Deleuzo-Guattarian theoretical framework to address the question: “How are the politically oriented social forums in Gaia Online experienced as a continuum of overlapping of lines, including molar lines, lines of flight, and molecular lines?” Although smooth lines of flight may occur in Gaia, there are always mechanisms that work to re-territorialize them as more striated molar operations. Conversely, while more striated molar lines may be evident in Gaia, there are also smooth lines of flight that attempt to deterritorialize them as smooth space. Founded in 2003, Gaia is a virtual community in which members use 3D avatars to socialize with others, create content, and play games. Deleuze and Guattari (1987) have defined space with three systems: on one end is state-oriented static space, on the other end is nomadic fluid space, and situated in the middle is molecular space which contains both smooth and striating elements. While state-oriented striated space is based on routines, rules, and specifications, nomadic smooth space is flexible, always changing, and full of possibility. Some of the smoother operations that are evident in Gaia include becoming other, decentred communications, desire as resistance...

The new workplace is not bound by geography, it is geography. In any place, there are overlapping geographic fields of varying intensity---design for the new office should consist of the agitation and deformation of these fields. This thesis investigates the architectural implications of patterns of working that are emerging due to the dematerialized but expanding presence of computing technology, or "The Techno-Cloud"---which has rendered the traditional architectural, urban, and social boundaries of the office obsolete. This thesis proposes a methodology for the re-design of the office tower---a strategy for upsetting its enclosed, controlled geography to create a HyperGeography of active, overlapping fields of climate and use. In the HyperGeographic Office, nomadic workers are part of this ecology, tuning their environment through movement. If the office is geography, then its Architecture is the control and augmentation of climatic performance.

This thesis is a mark-making as a praxis of architectural experiment, which could be a noise and a revolutionary line as well. Neither of them don't matter to me as much as what I've got through a series of trial and error. Composed of five related praxes, four preceding ones suggesting ideas of final praxis. The corpus of idea is driven by the nomadic nature of human body and its micro environments. As I titled, is rather a graphical metaphor of being, situating, existing in the environment. Due to its intimacy to the body, fabrics are chosen as materials. This attempt intended to sit in the blurred border line between the unavoidable image of hardness in architecture and structureless in garments (fashion). is also implying the potential development in subject matter "homelessness". Since this project mainly concerns to being "nomadic", many homeless life styles were referenced. At this point, this project could be a guideline or a pattern to build a nomadic shelter for the needs. With further surveys and studies, however, this project shall be developed one step ahead. is the environment which integrates the body and its surroundings into a closed space. is a garment providing comfort and protection that the nomadic nature of human body requires. is clothing that is extended layers enabling the creation of transient space. is mobile space using body media. is visual intervention rendering place and boundary. is instinctive human reaction to fit themselves to the environment.

The present paper “Study on cultural pattern and human migration along the Chinese Silk Road (Gansu-Qinghai stretch): taking the Salar’s ethnic formation and development as an example” has a rather simple framework which unceasingly oscillates between structural analysis and historical narration. Starting from a cross-cultural perspective, it combines traditional historical insights and postmodern paradigms of conceiving history. It consists on three parts - concept definition, historical analysis and critical inquiries, fieldwork summarization - presenting a comprehensive research on the topic. Through a combination of various theoretical approaches and practical historical examples, it pays attention to the formation and development of ethnic patterns under the influence of human migrations, and describes above all the heterogeneity, variability, and diversity of Gansu-Qinghai regional culture and of its constituent ethnic cultures. It investigates, respectively, their inner structures, their historical transformations, and the forging and maintenance of specific boundaries dividing the ethnic groups involved, thus refuting by placing them under the category of “ethnic isle” or “ideal cultural type”. Ethnic groups that inhabit exclusively in the Gansu-Qinghai region (most commonly known as "ganqing diqu" in Chinese) are raised here as an example. They represent the central subject matter of the paper. The entire framework of the first part is dedicated to the discussion of this idea and provides a solid support for the following observations.

This article intends to show the contrasts  in the reading of the second version of “Sonnet allégorique de lui-même”, written by Stéphane Mallarmé, and of the short story “O ovo e a galinha”, by Clarice Lispector. The intention is, first of all, to explore in the aforementioned corpora, possible nuances in the canonical   interpretations of the poetic legacy of Mallarmé, drawing, in the point of intersection of the texts, another possibility for the comprehension of the literary: that of a space without a place; a nomadic space, with no debts to the positive speeches which configure stable objects in our ordinary vision. In short: to highlight the modes of existence established, in the artistic space of Literature, by the Brazilian fiction writer and the French poet, between the reasonable urgency of the solid speech and the dark power of silence. In one word: to see how they both live in this twighlight zone; how they both orchestrate the murmur their works are made of.; O presente artigo pretende calcular os contrastes da leitura da segunda versão, datada de 1887, do “Sonnet allégorique de lui-même”, de Stéphane Mallarmé, e do conto “O ovo e a galinha”, de Clarice Lispector. Urban Negotiations are art strategies that find possibilities for art to engage in the urban environment. Urban Negotiations are collaborative and participatory actions in the production of public and private space. An Artwork for an Imperfect World is a collaborative work with Temple Bar Gallery, Merchants Quay Ireland (NGO) and people suffering homelessness. For a duration the gallery became host, a place of hospitality, were each evening dinner was served from a redesigned Van. The artwork now functions as a mobile needle exchange unit in the streets of Dublin. Nomadic Kitchen is an interstitial art initiative that engages in the process of negotiating the urban environment with the residents of Vila Nova, São Miguel Paulista (São Paulo, Brazil). The structure functions as a locus where residents self govern and develop flexible and creative ways of building a context for living. The structure of Nomadic Kitchen is flexible, fluid, and adaptable to different occasions and contexts. Urban decisions around producing public and social space are made while cooking, eating and meeting in the Nomadic Kitchen. Mario Bellatin creates a peculiar "space of sense" in fiction, related to the visual and performatic expressions of language. So, his literary project presents writing as body language, a territory of significance constantly deterritorialized by sensations connected to the narrative game, with images and symbols in the literary actions. A sense of creative destruction constitutes the paradox expressed by fiction as body and by the body as fiction, in what we call Bellatin’s "nomadic writing", by means of the abnormality of the characters, their sexuality and religiosity, as one can note in Flores (2000), especially in "Rosa canina", published online by Cosac Naify in 2009. The position adopted by the protagonist in this work seems to indicate a specific "regime of signification”, as Josefina Ludmer puts it, according to which art and reality, fiction and biography blur their borders in a “gel state exchange”.; http://dx.doi.org/10.5007/1984-784X.2015v15n23p51Mario Bellatin cria um espaço de sentido peculiar na ficção, relacionado à expressão visual e performática da linguagem. Many cities may be found in one city: some of them are visible and some others are invisible, but all of them are produced in the heterotopic space of the (heterogenic and nomadic) other.
