Pós-graduação em Serviço Social - FCHS; Nesta dissertação de mestrado buscamos compreender a atuação do Serviço Social acerca das possibilidades e limites no atendimento às famílias, no campo sócio-jurídico, ressaltando a importância da reflexão sobre a ação profissional e o debate contemporâneo da profissão. Constatou-se, pelos dados levantados com a pesquisa, que a família é a maior demanda atendida no universo pesquisado, o Escritório Escola Jurídico Social e que precisamos avançar no tema família. Procuramos estudar o trabalho do assistente social junto a essas famílias, investigando as dificuldades enfrentadas pelo profissional de Serviço Social no cotidiano de trabalho e possibilidades de atendimento no que diz respeito aos conflitos envolvidos no contexto familiar inserido na realidade social. Mestrado em Serviço Social; O presente trabalho, analisa o impacto do Programa de Estabilidade e Crescimento, em virtude da instabilidade financeira em que se encontra a Europa, o País sentiu necessidade de proceder a ajustes nas políticas de protecção social, minorando as respostas do Serviço Social, bem como os serviços de atendimento que lidam diariamente com o resultado dessas políticas. O objectivo geral desta dissertação prende-se na avaliação e medição das consequências reais do PEC no funcionamento dos serviços de atendimento ao público da Segurança Social. Na realização da pesquisa, optamos por uma análise mista, a análise qualitativa que permitiu produzir um conhecimento interpretativo do fenómeno, exprimido na primeira mão pelos actores dos locais escolhidos onde desenvolvem a sua acção. Desenvolvemos também uma análise quantitativa que caracterizou a população abrangida pelo estudo como elementos primordiais de compreensão do trabalho realizado. Background: The Mexican mandatory year of social service following medical school, or pasantía, is designed to provide a safety net for the underserved. However, social service physicians (pasantes) are typically unpracticed, unsupervised, and unsupported. Significant demotivation, absenteeism, and underperformance typically plague the social service year. Objective: Compañeros en Salud (CES) aimed to create an education-support package to turn the pasantía into a transformative learning experience. Design: CES recruited pasantes to complete their pasantía in CES-supported Ministry of Health clinics in rural Chiapas. The program aims to: 1) train pasantes to more effectively deliver primary care, 2) expose pasantes to central concepts of global health and social medicine, and 3) foster career development of pasantes. Program components include supportive supervision, on-site mentorship, clinical information resources, monthly interactive seminars, and improved clinic function. We report quantitative and qualitative pasante survey data collected from February 2012 to August 2013 to discuss strengths and weaknesses of this program and its implications for the pasante workforce in Mexico. The present study it has the objective to analyze the professional demands placed for the social assistants for the politics of mental health in Brazil, giving emphasis to the Centers of Psicossocial Attention (Caps) in Maceió, searching to apprehend the paper developed for these professionals in these services and to identify the difficulties in the professional performance and the development of the Politics of Mental Health. For in such a way, the revision of the literature related to the thematic one and the objectives of the study, the documentary accomplishment of research on the legislation in Mental Health and the accomplishment of the empirical research had been developed, from an interview halfstructuralized carried through with the social assistants who act in the Caps of the city of Maceió. In this work it is argued the relation enters the educative character of the Social Service of the Commerce and the orientações of the politics for control of the work force, as well as the consequences of the assimilation of these orientações for the diligent classroom. This work analyzes the institutional-politician insertion of the Social Service in the Brazilian Providence in the period of 1960-2003, demonstrating that the same is related to the determination partner-economic and politics of the society crossed by the conflict between the capital and the work. And, this makes with that the development of the profession in this politics presents stability/instability movements. The inquiry involved referring metodologics procedures to the bibliographical research, the documentary one and the exploratory empirical research. This was carried through because, for the analysis of the study object, the inquiry of the dynamics of practical concrete professionals in the scope of the providence politics was necessary. For this, we carry through interviews opened in two social assistants who had had intense performance in the Social Service in the Providence in Alagoas, with the objective to rescue the beginning of the practical professional in the State of Alagoas, besides searching answers for gaps and questionings that had appeared in elapsing of the inquiry process. The present study analyses the actual relations and work conditions found in the third sector in Natal city, in the context of productive restoration and increasingly retraction from the State in providing Social Service before the new approach that has been destined to the social issue. The study talks about the work of the social worker when fighting the different expressions the social issue has, such as social service provision as a way of teamwork associated to work relations and conditions, to accessible resources and quality control management. The present study deals with the exercise of professional social workers in private health care plans registered with the Regional Council of Medicine/RN, in the city of Natal/RN, with regards to the demands/tasks, work conditions, and the professional response, given the climate of restructuring the capital. The set of socio-historical transformations, as a results of the dynamic capitalist, is a process of new configurations in relation to state and society that interfere directly in relation to working conditions, social rights historically won by workers. In this context, the operator of health plans arises as a possibilities to provide services in health, through the logic of the market, in which the subjects of law, become consumers contributing to the displacement of the responsibilities of the State. Obligating workers to lessen the burden with the reproduction of their workforce. This paper analyzes the political participation of Social Workers at the Social Service Regional Council Region 14th. The theoretical and methodological framework of this investigation has as its perspective the totality of social life and its determining relations within the object of study. To the production, analysis and collecting of data it was used a qualitative approach considering a bibliographical and documental research as well as a series of twelve interviews with 2005-2008 and 2008-2011 managing counselors of CRESS/RN. It was also used the data obtained from other special interviews held with the social workers in the period between 2007 and 2008. The results of this study allow and affirm the political dimension of Caseworkers and the CRESS/RN as a space of political activity with opportunities for effective and collective elaboration of strategies in order to reach the fulfillment of the ethical and professional policy of the Social Work. This research presents the labors developed by the Social Service unto socially excluded HIV/Aids positives at public hospitals in Rio Grande do Norte (RN). It purposes to identify and to analyze the demands brought by the holder onto the Social Service professional as well as the challenges the latter face to minister to the former. It privileges, from the methodological viewpoint, the qualitative and quantitative analysis with the application of questionnaires, direct observation, semi-structured interviews and bibliographic references. Data were collected from 12 (twelve) social assistants who work at Giselda Trigueiro Hospital in Natal (7) and Rafael Fernandes Hospital in Mossoró (5). The central hypothesis that guided this study is that the social inclusion/exclusion process experienced by the HIV/Aids positive on society implies a demand for the Social Service that is inserted in the public health context (specially in HIV-referred public hospitals), whose agents, however, when attempting to answer those demands, meet obstacles due to both the precariousness of public health services and the social complexity that concerns the HIV/Aids epidemic. The purpose of this project is to provide social service practitioners with tools and perspectives to engage young people in a process of developing and connecting with their own personal narratives, and storytelling with others. This project extensively reviews the literature to explore Why Story, What Is Story, Future Directions of Story, and Challenges of Story. Anchoring this exploration is Freire’s (1970/2000) intentional uncovering and decoding. Taking a phenomenological approach, I draw additionally on Brookfield’s (1995) critical reflection; Delgado (1989) and McLaren (1998) for subversive narrative; and Robin (2008) and Sadik (2008) for digital storytelling. The recommendations provided within this project include a practical model built upon Baxter Magolda and King’s (2004) process towards self-authorship for engaging an exercise of storytelling that is accessible to practitioners and young people alike. A personal narrative that aims to help connect lived experience with the theoretical content underscores this project. I call for social service practitioners to engage their own personal narratives in an inclusive and purposeful storytelling method that enhances their ability to help the young people they serve develop and share their stories.

Although the initial impetus for this poverty and social impact analysis (PSIA) was to inform the Gecamines retrenchment program, it quickly became evident during the scoping that the policy issues fell into two broad categories: a) Short term which involved the key issues of inquiry focusing on what the impact of this program might be, how to mitigate negative effects, and, according to the standard methodology for PSIA, whether the alternatives to restructuring were better or worse than the reform itself. Accordingly, a central question concerned the degree to which Gecamines' degradation had already caused adjustments in income and services and whether the alternative of not restructuring would have been preferable; and b) Medium term which stressed plans to restructure the sector included re-centering on the company's core activity and competency (ore extraction and production of copper and cobalt metal), and minimizing its role as a social service provider. The choice of a suitable service provider is an important issue often overlooked in existing architectures. Current systems focus mostly on the service itself, paying little (if at all) attention to the service provider. In the Service Oriented Architecture (SOA), Universal Description, Discovery and Integration (UDDI) registries have been proposed as a way to publish and find information about available services. These registries have been criticized for not being completely trustworthy. In this paper, an enhancement of existing mechanisms for finding services is proposed. The concept of Social Service Broker addressing both service and social requirements is proposed. While UDDI registries still provide information about available services, methods from Social Network Analysis are proposed as a way to evaluate and rank the services proposed by a UDDI registry in social terms.; Comment: 8 pages, 3 figures

A partir das experiências desenvolvidas no Centro de Saúde Experimental da Barra Funda, São Paulo (Brasil), foram definidas quatro funções básicas do serviço social em uma unidade sanitária expermiental: função de serviços de atendimento direto à clientela, função administrativa, função de ensino e aperfeiçoamento profissional e função de pesquisa. Juntamente à especificação de suas funções procurou-se determinar seus objetivos e atividades, bem como atribuições do Assistente Social e do Auxiliar Social. Apesar de estarem baseadas nas atividades de um Centro de Saúde Escola, sua aplicabilidade nas demais unidades da rede sanitária não se invalida.; From the preliminary experiments developed in the "Centro de Saúde Experimental da Barra Funda" (S. Paulo, Brazil) (Experimental Public Health Center) four basic functions of the social service in a experimental public health unit became evident: delivery of health care, administration, professional training and research. Besides these functions, its objectives and activities as well as its main atributions were determined. Although based on studies performed in an academic center, its applications for other public health units should also be valid.

Um dos grandes desafios no âmbito do atendimento à criança e ao adolescente/família é o processo de exclusão ou inclusão social das famílias carentes, vivenciado nas triagens realizadas pelo Serviço Social da Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina.
